15 May, 2025HCMC – March 5: TPI collaborated with Thong Nhat Hospital to organize the “Stroke Conference: Treatment, Recovery, and Prevention of Recurrence.” The event was attended by over 400 medical professionals, pharmacists, and representatives from Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.
Key updates on stroke knowledge
Stroke, also known as cerebrovascular accident, is a dangerous condition that is increasingly affecting younger populations. To raise awareness and update medical expertise on this issue, TPI partnered with Thong Nhat Hospital to host the conference, featuring renowned specialists in neurology.
The event attracted over 300 healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses, and medical technicians from major hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Dong Nai, Khanh Hoa, Tay Ninh, and beyond. Highlights of the conference included:
- Chairperson: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Dinh Thanh, Director of Thong Nhat Hospital
- Speakers: Prof. Marc Fisher, Former President of the World Stroke Organization (2020–2022)
- Speakers: Prof. Dong Qiang, Head of Neurology Department, Huashan Hospital, Fudan University
- Speakers: Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Nga, Head of Internal Neurology Department, Thong Nhat Hospital
- Speakers: Prof. Xu Anding, Head of Neurology Department, Overseas Chinese Hospital Guangzhou, Jinan University.
Important updates on stroke treatment:
At the beginning of the conference, Prof. Marc Fisher provided the latest information on the global status of stroke, giving medical professionals an overview of the current situation and future directions for treatment. Following this, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Nga presented the treatment and recovery process for stroke at Thong Nhat Hospital.
The conference focused on advanced treatment methods, with notable topics like:
- “Exploration and breakthroughs in standardized treatment in the era of reperfusion” – Prof. Dong Qiang.
- “The role of collateral circulation in effective management of ischemic stroke” – Prof. Xu Anding.
